Erwin Keustermans

Erwin Keustermans (°1960) is a draughtsman, pur sang. In his work, patterns and systems emerge. While making his drawings, the process is central. A certain compulsiveness is required for the patterns to come into being. The result is usually an elaborate network of pencil marks where the viewer can seek order. Sometimes, the patterns are reminiscent of musical notes of a composition, or there is an optical effect. One keeps looking at the drawings; Keustermans' talent impresses.
