Warner Berckmans

Warner Berckmans is fascinated by interaction and exchange. His choice to work with glass is hence no coincidence. Through their transparency and reflection, his sculptures are continuously in dialogue with their surroundings. In his mural work, the relationship between viewer and the work takes centre stage. The reflection of the glass and Berckmans’ own artistic touches, which include engravings, sanding and the applying of black enamel paint on the backside of the glass, create a tension, which elicits meditation and introspection from the viewer.
